Many of the events the PTO puts on are fundraisers as well. They create something fun for the kids and in the process raise funds for freebie events such as the end-of-the-year Pool Party.
KINDERGARTEN ROUND-UP
​
Kindergarten Round-Up is held annually in August the day before Kindergarteners start. It is a meet and greet / information session for families of incoming kindergarteners. The PTO provides popsicles and water.
BOO-HOO BREAKFAST
​​
Held after drop-off on the first day of school for Kindergarteners. The PTO Boo-Hoo Breakfast is a chance for parents to get to know each other. The PTO serves coffee, pastries, and coffee in the cafeteria from 8 am-9 am.
PTO SOCIAL / OPEN HOUSE
​
Open house is held on a weekday evening shortly after the beginning of school. Students get to show off their new classrooms and introduce their parents to their teachers. Concessions and drinks are available for purchase before Open House from 5:00-5:30 PM.
ROOSEVELT NIGHT OUT
​
A few nights a year, the PTO has secured restaurants or fun spots for a family night out. Say Roosevelt and a portion of the proceeds come back to the PTO general fund which helps to support requests from teachers and staff.
FAMILY LUAU
​
On a September evening enjoy a catered plate, salad and dessert at the school cafeteria. After eating, the commons area will be where you can mingle with other parents, staff, and even enjoy some dancing. This is a fundraiser for the 4th grade St. Augustine field trip and the 6th grade graduation celebration.
JINGLE BELL SHOP
​
The PTO operates a little store in one the the empty rooms at school for kids to do some holiday shopping for their loved ones. All items are $2. Money is designated to school families in need.
MOM AND SON BASH
​
This is designed to be a special event for boys and their moms/female guardians. Games are played, food is eaten, fun is had.
GUARDIAN OF GALS
​
Come for a special evening—complete with a professional DJ and photographer—for fathers/male guardians and their daughters to make memories.
GOLF 'N GATOR
​
Come to Golf 'n Gator Miniture Golf from 5-9 on a designtated night. Part of the proceeds will go to the PTO fund for Teacher Appreciation week.
POOL PARTY
​
Celebrate the end of the year with a pool party at the Cocoa Beach Aquatic Center from 4-6 PM in early May. This is a fun time for kids to cool off, enjoy the water, and eat some hot dogs.
TEACHER APPRECIATION
​
We celebrate our teachers and staff quarterly at Roosevelt. Typically a school-wide theme is implemented ideas to show your appreciation. ​

The Roosevelt community does an amazing job of hosting many fun events throughout the school year. Here are some of the most prominent events:
BOOK FAIR
​
Scholastic Book Fairs are run by Mr. Alonso in the Media Center at school two times a year.
BEDTIME STORY NIGHT
At this early evening event, students are encouraged to come in their pajamas and enjoy milk and cookies while listening to stories, all to promote literacy.
MATH/SCIENCE NIGHT​
​
Our amazing teachers go above and beyond to prepare fun STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activites and exhibits presented in Roosevelt's Commons.
MULTI-CULTURAL NIGHT
At multi-cultural night, students tour the world with their Roosevelt passports, sampling cuisine and learning about other countries.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART
This is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Students collect pledges and particiapte in a jump rope event.
WALK TO SCHOOL DAY
Coach Sirounis, the P.E. teacher, leads this fun, organized walk to school starting at the Balliwick Mall and escorted by the Cocoa Beach Police Department. The focus is on fitness and safety. Students who participate earn prizes when they arrive at school.
